<lj:music>The Red Violin OST -- John Corigliano</lj:music>

1. A song for shredding paperwork.
Powerhouse -- Raymond Scott -- It's got a steady beat, and is really efficient. I find it incredibly easy to fall into a routine with this song.

2. A song to howl along with.
Feed the Tree -- Belly -- Mm, nostalgia. It's upbeat, and I really love her voice. I don't know why.

3. A song for frustrated ambition.
When You're Around -- Motion City Soundtrack -- I don't have a good explanation for this one.

4. A song that speaks to your fears.
The Lady of Shalott -- Lorena McKennitt -- It's just kind of...depressing. I don't know. I'm weird like that.

5. A song you wouldn't throw out of bed, if it came to that.
Morenamia -- Miguel Bosé -- This man has a delicious voice (at least in this song), and it's so...simply sweet? *purr*

6. A song for the days when you're Don Quixote.
Flours -- Britt Daniel -- It's from the Stranger than Fiction soundtrack. Instead of getting the girl flowers, he gives her flours, because she's a baker. Haha, I didn't know what else to put here.

7. A song for will-they-won't-they.
Mary's in India -- Dido -- Again, no explanation.

8. A song for a surfeit of love.
Maestro / Cry -- Hans Zimmer -- This one was a toss-up. They're both from The Holiday soundtrack. I decided to choose a tune (or tunes) rather than a song, because I think the music speaks for itself on this one. It shouldn't be crowded by lyrics.

9. A song for a slow drive through the desert.
Cemetery Gates -- The Smiths / En Las Montañas -- Gipsy Kings -- Another toss-up. They're both good songs to drive to, and I just couldn't decide. I've got a lot of music...^^;

10. A song like chamomile tea.
I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You -- Colin Hay -- It's quiet and soothing, yet kind of sad. I associate both with Chamomile Tea. I'm not quite sure why. *shrug*

11. A song you wish you had (or could have) listened to as a 15-year-old.
FNT -- Semisonic -- It's upbeat, and I was SUCH a wangsty 15-year-old. It was kind of sad.

12. A song you keep wanting to delete from your hard drive, but can't.
Megacolon -- Fischerspooner -- It's too catchy to delete, but I kind of can't stand it, unless I'm already Zombied out.

13. A song that sets you giggling (at least in theory).
Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) -- Mika -- ...every time I think of this song, I think of the music video. It's Mika leading a group of overweight girls down a semi-crowded street, and he's jumping and dancing. I dunno, he's adorable, and it makes me giggle. Also, the song is really amusing. "Get yourself to the Butterfly Lounge, find yourself a big lady...big boy, come on 'round, and they'll be callin' you baby. No need to fantasize since I was in my braces. Got a watering hole with the girls around with curves in all the right places." ....come on, who wouldn't like that?

14. A song you listened to this morning.
Nth Degree -- Morningwood -- I woke up to this today. It makes me want to dance.

This and other mixes can also be found here, or at calikali's journal.
